Tata Motors to launch completely Electric Vehicle in a year

Tata Motors plans at launching the worlds cheapest car - The Nano may have run into a bit of trouble with politicians trying to rake up causes to help their votebanks, but that hasnt stopped this Indian automobile giant from plughing onwards. Tata Motors is now promising to roll out their completely electric vehicle in less than a year on the streets of Norway.

Its going to be the elctric version of the Indica (which is already on Indian roads with petrol / diesel engine) and has been developed in conjunction with a Norwegian firm. This electric car will also be arriving in India later.

S. Ravishankar, senior general manager at Tata Motors engineering research centre, said the car can run for 175 km (110 miles) to 200 km when fully charged with a two-pack battery, but mileage could vary according to the battery used.
