3Dd displays havent exactly been easy to manufacture. That probably explains the dearth of true 3D even when it comes to larger screens such as televisions. The best that technology could do wa have the user wear those glasses , which wasnt comfortable to say the least. However a lot of strides have been made in this technology this year and we have already seen televisions (that should soon make it to the market) which will allow true 3D viewing sans any special glasses.

So it shouldnt come as much of a surprise that cell phones are now getting ready to push in 3D displays. Two seperate LCDs help in giving the 3D effect - each LCD outputs image for one eye thus giving a 3D effect. With each image subtly different in position, the technique uses these stereoscopic LCD displays to fools the eye into thinking it's a real 3D image that' being perceived.
