India had claimed it, but it turned out to be a rumor - its now Chinas turn to claim what is the upteenth one for a sub 100$ laptop computer. The OLPC was one big flop considering the price that they finally ended up with. But a 98$ laptop, if true could completely alter the developing worlds current fascination with cell phones and finally bring to them computers in a way that was never possible before.

Given its hardware its certainly possible , the HiVision miniNote comes packed with 400 MHz CPU, 128 megs of RAM, a 7-inch screen, and a 1 GB flash drive. Wi-Fi is built in, and the HiVision miniNote runs on a Linux or old Windows OS.
