Pioneers Floating Vision (Hologram Televisions are here!)

Posted by Funkyguy on October 7, 2008 1:52 PM

The system consists of a LCD with a built-in computer, some 3D lenses and a space sensor which lets you interact with objects on the screen. Since this is a classic case of a thousand words not being enough , I think viewing the videos shall make more sense. The sensor can also determine the difference between a hand and other objects. In one of the videos, users could use their phone to catch falling objects on the screen, which would then appear on the phone with a coupon for that item.

Its a first step towards making holograms viable and you dont need to think twice about how televisions of the future will be. Its going to be all immersive experience ; something like those holo-decks in the Enterprise version of star ships.
