Ever since the recent oil crisis, its become cool to hate those who drive monster trucks or any other sort of gas guzzlers. One must admit though, that these cars do have an edge when it comes to safety. The mere size and weight , the very factors that make them gas guzzlers, also act in their favor when it comes to car crashes. People who value safety above all else have always used this point in order to justify their usage.

However with smart cars going monstrous - it could be a win win situation for all concerned. Those who love their monster wheels can have them without worrying about contributing excessively to green house emissions or the import bill. Its obviously not going to get mileage like that tiny smart car, but hey its still as green as it can get.
