The fight between the processor and heat began as soon as the first one was invented. The temperature rose as processors were created with millions of microchips tightly packed against each other and this directly resulted in a loss of performance. Various ways are used to keep the temperature bearable, the most common of these being that noisy air fan. Water cooled PCs are considered cool but they never really took off and are far from practical for obvious reasons.

Heres one more seeming illogical PC which has however made it to the mainstream. The entire motherboard, video card are completely immersed in oil. Liquids and especially oil is an excellent conductor of heat and the resulting system is 10 times more effective than the traditional ones at keeping the heat in check. Hardcore expects the whole deal to go for about 4k USD which trust us is a steal at those prices.

A pump circulates the liquid through a custom radiator to keep the temps down. Simple circulation isn't enough to keep the CPU and GPU cool, so custom blocks are fitted to the CPU and GPU to increase surface area and increase the flow of liquid over the hottest components. Processing power and over clocking is naturally much simpler when you have such an excellent cooling system at hand. Head on to Hardcomputers for more.
