While we were still reeling from what we read about OLEDs and LCDs , out came Mitsubishi with an even more bizarre option - Laser TVs. Instead of using standard LCD’s in its screen, the LaserVue makes use of , you guessed it, Lasers. The 3D ready TV has a color range that is twice as broad as typical models and also consumes more than 30 percent less energy.
The rear-projection set's color range is twice as broad as a typical HDTV's, yet it consumes 33 percent less energy than a similar-size LCD. The best part is that Mitsubishi promises that the Lasers will never ever need replacement.
Available now for 7000$ USD.
