Its a trend amongst bloggers to label anything out of the ordinary in gadgets as futuristic . Gizmodo though doesnt hesitate in calling a spade as a spade and has labelled the HMX R10 as a Alien eyed lens . Couldnt say we could agree more. I do like the dull steel finish though, I never was too keen on all those colors they keep draping cameras with.

Its easy to imagine this thing with Artificial Intelligence and anti-gravity hovering around with you being your personal assistant in the next 50 years. Coming back to the preset, feature wise, the HMX-R10 is the fifth high definition model for 2009, well-equipped for still photo shooting with a 1/2.33-inch 9-megapixel CMOS sensor. The SMX-F34, a standard definition camcorder, offers a special YouTube recording mode and software to aid in uploading videos.
The alien eye isnt just for the heck of it, the cut lens allows the camera to feature a larger sensor. The angle of the cut is a decent 25 degrees which makes it so apparent. The sensor allows for native still capture up to 9 megapixels, though the optical zoom is reduced to only 5x. The LCD measures 2.7 inches, and the camcorder includes an HDMI output.
