Posted by Yash on January 13, 2009 3:07 PM

Sony, the company that started the craze of music on the move looks all set to take back its lost territory from Apple. The Walkman brand name which was passed over to the SonyEricsson cell phone hand, has been taken back by Sony with a vengeance. Now this is what can seriously offer some competition to Apple and the iPod.

The Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000 will feature a colorful and crisp 3-inch OLED display, Wi-Fi and built-in headphone-independent noise cancellation for those who prefer not to shell out a Benjamin for a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

The unit looks like its chisseled in stone, cant say if I like it or not until I hold one in my hands. The new touchscreen NWZ-X1000 will be available in 16GB and 32GB sizes.
