Worlds First 64GB SSD Camera
January 11, 2009

Samsung has just staked its claim to the title of being the worlds first SSD camera maker with 64 gigs of memory capacity. Going SSD allows the benefits of flash memory without being restricted by size limitations that are so apparent with the memory cards.

While some camera makers went and solved this problem by using traditional HDDs , those are susceptible to data corruption if there is rough handling of the camera. SSDs with no moving parts have a big advantage over traditional hard drives in such cases.

The camera will go on sale in April and there shall also be a 128 GB variant. The H106, the top of the line features 1920x1080, built-in SSD to 64GB. Optical Image Stabilizer, a 37mm wide angle lens, HD time lapse photo are all on board. The camera is capable of a 4.7 mp still photo.
